Kandy, Central

Overview

The ancestral home of one of Kandy’s most influential aristocratic families, Ratwatte Walauwa was built by Chief Minister Ratwatte Adigar in 1804. It is located on the eastern hills of the town on a spice estate.

This beautifully restored manor house still retains the atmosphere of a private country mansion of the British Raj while providing seclusion and serenity in a lovely countryside setting amidst a spice estate of rolling hills on the edge of Kandy. The luxury boutique hotel has nine suites set around a magnificent central courtyard.
