Itinerary
Day 1: NEGOMBO
Meet, Greet and you will be transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Rest of the afternoon at leisure to relax and venture out to try Negombo’s numerous dining options.
Day 2: NEGOMBO > ANURADHAPURA
After breakfast your tour of Sri Lanka begins with an epic journey through the island’s rural villages take you to the one of the fabled cities in the East and the 1st century capital of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. Check in at your hotel and later in the afternoon your driver will take you around this ancient city to explore some of the ruins including Sri Maha Bodhiya the oldest documented tree in the world.
Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay
Day 3: ANURADHAPURA > JAFFNA
After an early breakfast start your journey to the north of Sri Lanka Jaffna peninsula passing some of the interesting places such as Kilinochchi where the defeated rebels political office was and the Elephant Pass one of the places in the world where you can see the sunrise and the sunset at the same place. An amazing experience guaranteed driving to the north of Sri Lanka.
Check in at your hotel and later in the afternoon we recommend a city tour of Jaffna and explore the cultural centre of the Tamil people of Sri Lanka. Visit the Jaffna fort, oldest liberary, the market place and many more interesting places.
Day 4: ACTIVITIES IN JAFFNA
Today after breakfast we have planned a full day tour of the small islands such as Nainativu and Delft are reachable only by ferry. Also visit the “Keerimalai” a healing well by the side of the ocean, Dambakolapatuna – an ancient boat Getty where a sampling of Sri Maha Bodhiya tree first brought to Sri Lanka and several important Hindu temples include Nellur and Nagapoosani. The waterscape offered by the Jaffna Lagoon, which is dotted by several islands is outstanding; the outriggers and catamarans of flamboyant colours that are sailing in the lagoon make a beautiful picture of the calm blue waters
Day 5: JAFFNA > TRINCOMALEE
After an early breakfast head to the East Coast of Sri Lanka Trincomalee, is one of the most beautiful locations in Sri Lanka. It has one of the finest natural harbours in the world, second only in size to that of Sydney in Australia. A magnificent view is afforded by entering the old British Fort where the Duke of Wellington was stationed in 1799.
In Trincomalee you will be visiting the hot water wells and the Koneswaram temple on a cliff overlooking the bay. .
Day’s 6 to 10: TRINCOMALEE > PASSIKUDA
After breakfast a drive through the beautiful landscaped and coastal road takes you to Passikuda, a place where you find some of the best beaches in the world. You will spend a good 5 nights at a resort of your choice. There are many activities available such as whale watching, snorkelling, sailing or just chill on an unspoilt beach. It is indeed possible to wade out into the open sea for hundreds of meters at Passikudah during the calm season that lasts from May to September…
You can add any number of beach nights you want; alternatively we will add 5 nights on the beach after the island wide tour of Sri Lanka to make a 2 weeks holiday in Sri Lanka.
Day 11: PASSIKUDA > DMBULLA
After a leisure breakfast you will be driven to the Cultural Triangle, where we break the long journey from the East to Colombo with an overnight stay in Dambulla. Check in at your hotel and later in the evening you can visit the Dambulla Cave Temple.
Day 12: DAMBULLA > COLOMBO
Your driver will meet you at the hotel to drive you down to Colombo for your last night stay in Sri Lanka. In Colombo you have the option of just relaxing in the hotel or go on a walking tour to explore Colombo by night with many international cuisine chain restaurants or try out Sri Lanka’s very own street food at Galle Face Green.
There are many shopping options available from semi brands to exclusive brands and as well as authentic Sri Lankan products.
Day 13: DEPARTURE
Today you will be dropped at the airport for your return journey
