Best of South India is a combination of 3 southern most states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Time spent on each state of southern India can be incredibly varied and rewarding, whether you’re after a backwater holiday in Kerala, a spiritual whirl through the temples and pilgrimage sites of Tamil Nadu, a wander through the ancient archaeological sites of Karnataka….we got you covered!

Itinerary

Day 1:  BANGALORE

Meet, Greet and you will be transferred to your hotel in Bangalore. Later sightseeing at Bangalore visiting Tipu Sultan Palace, ISKCON Temple and Lal Bagh Garden.

Day 2:  BANGALORE > HASSAN

After breakfast drive to Hassan, en-route visiting 17m high huge Jain statues depicting the god Gommateshwara carved out of a single rock. Check in at your hotel and rest of the day at leisure

Day 3:  HASSAN > MYSORE

After an early breakfast visit the famous Halebid and Belur temples from the 11th century Hoysala period. On completion continue the journey to silk city Mysore. Check in at the hotel. Late afternoon visit the Devarajah local market and Brindavan Gardens and see the musical fountains and colourful lights. Return back to hotel for overnight stay

Day 4:  ACTIVITIES AT MYSORE

Today after breakfast you will have a full day tour of Mysore visiting the extravagant Mysore Palace, Tipu Sultan’s fort, Chamundi hills, Jaganmohan Palace & Art Gallery. A day filled with magical experience and south Indian delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Return back to the hotel for your overnight stay

Day 5:  MYSORE > OOTY

After breakfast scenic drive to Ooty the hill station of South India through dramatic winding roads and dense forests of the Nilgiri Hills. Check in the hotel and afternoon free to explore the surrounding area

Day 6:  SIGHTSEEING AT OOTY

After breakfast we will structure this day to include hiking, a visit to the Rose garden, tea plantation and the adjacent, smaller towns of Coonoor and Kotagiri are worth visiting. Return back to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 7:  OOTY > PALLAKAD

After a lazy morning leisure breakfast the group will be driven to Palakkad the Gateway of Kerala, check in at the hotel. Later visit the old Palakkad fort most beautiful and best preserved fort. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay

Day 8:  PALLAKD > COCHIN

After breakfast drive to Cochin, on the way visit Punnanathur Kota Elephant Camp and Palakkad Gap. Check in at your hotel in Cochin. Late evening visit the Indian Kathakali cultural dance performance. Overnight stay inside the Fort Cochin

Day 9: HOUSEBOAT ON BACKWATERS

After breakfast, sightseeing at Cochin, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Palace, Old Quarter, Pardesi Synagogue, Santa Cru Basilica. On completion proceed to backwaters for overnight Cruise from Kumarokom to Alleppey. These man- made living houses on the river have everything to make you get a different experience from scenic beauty to south Indian delicacies. You can also enjoy Kayaking through narrow backwater canals to see the lifestyle of fisherman families. A typical south Indian cuisine will be served on boat.

Day 10:  HOUSEBOAT > ALLEYPPEY

After breakfast you will be picked up from Alleppey boat jetty and continue the journey to your hotel in Alleppey, a backwater village. This is a great spot to end your tour and talk about your favourite areas in South India with your fellow travellers. Overnight with a farewell dinner at the hotel

Day 11:  DEPARTURE

Today you will be dropped at the airport for your return journey
